John and Sib first met while working at OpenTable in 2018. John had heart eyes for Sibylle since her first day in the office. He would sit on the couch behind her desk, hoping she would join him. And one day… she did.
After many hours of John playing it cool by joining Sib at CorePower Yoga, taking her hiking in Boulder, and cooking delicious meals for her, the two became inseparable.

A year into dating the pandemic hit. John and Sibylle quickly took advantage of the Abizaid’s peaceful lake house. They saw the seasons change from winter to summer, spending six months with the Abizaid family.
At the end of the summer when things were getting back to normal the Millers came to pick up Sibylle. Meeting for the first time, both families laughed and enjoyed lobster and crisp wine, creating wonderful memories. Everyone began to think that their pandemic fling might be the real deal…
Clairvaux,
France
During the summer of 2022 Sibylle took John to Clairvaux, the French village where she spent her summers growing up surrounded by family and friends. On the second day they went hiking and had a picnic overlooking the lake. Sibylle cried tears of joy when John got down on one knee between bites of Pâté en Croûte and sips of Jura Crémant.
The surprises continued when Sibylle got back to the house and Sue, Charlie, and Libby were sitting in her Clairvaux living room. The Millers (David, Yolande, and Pépin the pup) graciously hosted and kept the wine glasses filled and cheese plate overflowing. The trip was filled with love, family, and celebration.
